PIPELINE PLAYLAB

Through a year-long series of monthly meetings, the Pipeline PlayLab serves as a workshop for playwrights to build new plays with constructive feedback from other playwrights, directors, and the artistic staff of Pipeline, culminating in staged readings of the developed plays.

INTAR To Present the World Premiere of LOCUSTS HAVE NO KING

"Locusts Have No King is a dangerous and terrifying play. It is also one of the funniest plays I have read in a very long time. There are many reasons why INTAR is the perfect home for this play and playwright. We are a home forLatino Artists and Julian certainly is such a playwright. But in this play, while staying true to his identity and culture, he transcends notions of Latinidad and assimilation. First and foremost, Locusts Have No King is a brave new American play written by a young Latino artist not afraid to claim his place in the American theater," said INTAR Artistic Director, Lou Moreno.

Casting Announced for INTAR's Locusts Have No King

Casting has been announced for the off-Broadway premiere of J. Julian Christopher'sLocusts Have No King, a production of INTAR Theatre.

The company of four will be made up of John J. Concado, Dan Domingues, David Grimm, and Liam Torres. David Mendizábal will direct. The work will run March 18-April 24.

Locusts Have No King is described as follows: "Two gay couples get together for a dinner party. They work together. They even live in the same building. And, they are closeted. But when one of them ponders his resignation, the others fear the exposure of their hidden relationships. They cannot allow this to happen. They won't allow this to happen. So, all hell breaks loose... literally."

INTAR, one of the United States' longest running Latino theatres producing in English, works to nurture the professional development of Latino theater artists and produce bold, innovative, artistically significant plays that reflect diverse perspectives.
